ABB India’s Drive products facility wins silver award at National Awards for Manufacturing Competitiveness

The Drive Products manufacturing facility in Peenya, Bengaluru has won the silver award at the 11th edition of National Awards for Manufacturing Competitiveness (NAMC), based on a comprehensive assessment of the facility.

The award is based on a rigorous evaluation that reviewed performance across product quality, supply chain efficiency, innovation, digital maturity, and workforce development. The assessment recognized the team’s strong progress in delivering product quality and development, and effective use of digital tools, including real-time dashboards and data visualization, which have helped strengthen on-ground decision-making and overall visibility of the process.

“This recognition reinforces our consistent efforts towards building a robust drives manufacturing facility and reflects our team’s commitment to drive continuous holistic development of the facility. We remain committed to building smarter, safer and more resilient operations while meeting the evolving needs of our customers and ensuring high quality standards,” said AR Madhusudan, President and Local Division Manager, Drive Products, ABB India.

“We continue to strengthen our operations with the integration of digital systems that empower our teams to improve accuracy, simplify workflow and ensure better visibility of processes. We have a strong focus on sustainability and safety, and our people remain at the core of our operations. In line with this, we are fostering a culture of ownership and collaboration while enabling smarter resource use and continuous process improvements,” said V Srinivas, Head Operations, Drive Products, ABB India.

V Srinivas received the award on behalf of the team at the Manufacturing Thought Leaders Summit 2025, held in Mumbai, India.

Instituted by International Research Institute for Manufacturing (IRIM), a global research, management consulting, and training firm dedicated to the manufacturing sector, NAMC is a unique awards program which recognizes non-conventional approaches and tailor-made strategies of organizations. The award process rates manufacturing organizations based on their ability to evolve the right competitive strategy and their capability to implement it.

The Drive Products facility in Peenya manufactures ABB’s wide range of all-compatible drives portfolio that are used across applications in various industries to run fractional kilowatt to multi-megawatt motors. The award marks a significant milestone for the Drive Products division.
